I'm a producer and post supervisor based in New Orleans and Los Angeles.
I've spent my career getting people and pipelines to work together, from festival stages to the dailies room.
I thrive on bringing people together.

I started a concert promotion company in college, then worked artist services and production for Voodoo Fest and Jazz Fest, with Essence Fest in the mix too. That's where I learned how big teams actually get managed, and it's most of the reason I do what I do.
From 2011 to 2019 I ran the 48 Hour Film Project in New Orleans, and we grew from 26 teams in year one to 61 by year three. We added a music video competition along the way, and in 2014 we hosted Filmapalooza, the international finals, for filmmakers from more than 120 cities. The point was getting people to stop talking about making films and start making them. I still think that's most of the job, and I still have to remind myself of it.

I learned post because indie films kept dying there.
I started out in New Orleans saying yes to any low-budget indie I could find, and I noticed that post is where a lot of them lived or died. So I started learning it. Friends I'd worked Jazz Fest with brought me onto Beasts of the Southern Wild as an assistant editor, and that led me to a film lab running telecine on 12 Years a Slave and Lee Daniels' The Butler right as the industry moved from film to digital.
Digital dailies got me to Light Iron. From there I ran the dailies department at Assembly, then spent my last staff years at Atlas Digital before leaving in 2025 to build my own practice. Most recently I was part of the team that developed and ran the short-turnaround delivery workflow on Love Is Blind.
You'll also find me credited as Alex Garcia and Alexander A. Garcia. It's the same guy.

We choose stories that need to be told.
AFAFO Media is a collaborative of professional artists dedicated to telling bold new stories anywhere, any time, and in any medium.
That sentence is the whole value system, and I mean every word of it. The collaborative part is literal, since none of this works alone. Professional means our crews get paid. I've worked for free more times than I'd like to admit, and I won't ask anyone else to. Bold is the part that keeps getting me in trouble, and I wouldn't trade it.

Poste Studio sells gear the way a consultant would.
I co-founded Poste Studio, a boutique AV and broadcast dealer serving Southeast Louisiana. We're authorized across more than 160 brand lines, and honestly the gear is the easy part.
The hard part is knowing what a campus studio or a finishing suite actually needs before anyone spends money on it. That's the part we're really selling.
Here's where it showed up.
I hold a B.S. in Music Industry Studies from Loyola University New Orleans.
If you're producing lean, let's talk.
What I'm really selling is judgment, mostly about where your production is going to break before it does.
